How can a good God allow bad things to happen? It's the question that has challenged believers and skeptics alike for centuries, and it's the powerful focus of our new mini-series on the Four Walls Podcast.

Something profound is stirring in our world today. Behind closed doors, behind carefully crafted public images, people with power and wealth have committed unspeakable acts against others—believing their status makes them untouchable. They've built empires on oppression while presenting themselves as champions of freedom. But their time is running short. God sees everything happening in secret, and justice is coming.

This episode introduces our framework for understanding why suffering exists in a world created by a loving God. We explore the tension between God's mercy (giving people time to repent) and His justice (eventually saying "enough is enough"). When hidden corruption is finally exposed and justice arrives, many will struggle to reconcile these events with their understanding of God's character. That's precisely what this series addresses—how to maintain faith in God's goodness even when the world seems to be falling apart.

The Four Walls Podcast focuses on the four foundational areas of life: spiritual walk, physical health, financial health, and relationships. This series strengthens the spiritual wall by providing biblical insight into suffering, evil, and divine justice. Whether you're questioning God's goodness or seeking deeper understanding of current events through a spiritual lens, this mini-series will equip you with wisdom for the challenging times ahead.

Introduction to Four Walls Podcast

SPEAKER_00

Good morning and welcome back to the Four Walls Podcast where we discuss what I believe to be the four foundational areas, aka the four walls in our lives, which are our spiritual walk, our physical health, our financial health, and our relationships. And these areas allow us to honor God and to live successful and fulfilling lives. This is Toya, your humble host, and I'm so glad that you're joining me today for another episode. On our last episode, I briefly introduced the topic that we will be discussing today and over the next few episodes, titled Why Bad Things Happen. Given some of the things that are occurring in our world and the ones on the horizon, I felt a push to really shed some light on this subject. So let's get started. We are often plagued by the idea that if God is good, then why do so many bad things happen? And particularly, why do bad things happen to good people? Or why does God allow bad things to happen in the world and in our lives? This question comes from both believers and those who do not believe or do not claim to be Christians, but the answer is still the same. Whichever side you're on, the answer is still the same. And that answer is that God is always good. And everything that he intends for his people is always good. The evil that we see in the world is not of him, but it is a result of parameters that he has put in place. So why am I making this video? That I believe there is a shaking that's coming to the earth and not just this nation. I'm from the United States. So not just here, but just to the globe. For there are many things that are going on in secret that are enslaving people, that are infringing on the rights of people, that are oppressing people, and these things need to be brought to the light. There are people in positions across the globe of power and authority with titles. They're sitting in high places, they're people with large amounts of wealth that are doing very ungodly things and believing that they are above reproach because of their title and because of their position and because of their money. And why is it that they think they can do these things? Who gives them the authority to do these things, to exert their will upon other people without repercussions? They believe that because they're wealthy and because they have these positions of power, that they are above reproach. But this is not of God. And justice must come in these situations. Justice must come for these people who are oppressed and these people who are enslaved and these people who are victimized. And I believe that there is a time where justice must be served. God is a righteous God, and he's not going to allow his people to be dehumanized and mistreated and victimized without him answering. And so he's gracious because he loves us all. Those of us who do good things and those of us who don't do good things, he loves us all the same. And he doesn't want any of us to be lost. And because of this, negative things are unfortunate things, unfortunate circumstances may go on longer than we are comfortable with, because God is giving these people who are doing these evil things time to change their heart and their mind, time to turn around. Stop what they're doing and make a 180-degree turn and go in the opposite direction and come back to Him. The thing is that no matter how awful the crime that they've committed or the thing that they've done, no matter how awful it is, he would still receive them back. He would still forgive them and he would still restore them. And he would also show grace to the person or people that they have victimized and strengthen them in their recovery. But he won't make people repent, he won't make them change their mind. He won't make them choose him. It's something that they must come to the decision on their own and choose him of their own free will. But he also will not let his people be victimized indefinitely. And so at some point, justice must be served. And I believe we've come to a time in this world where justice is going to be served. There are things going on in this world that should never happen. And much of it is done in secret. And I believe that God is saying enough is enough. And he's giving them time to change their mind and change their heart and to turn to him so that he can restore them, so that he can work with them and work on them. But if they don't choose to restore their relationship with him, God will not take away their choice, but they may suffer the consequences of their actions. Many of them don't believe that they will ever be held accountable because they're just untouchable, because of their position, or maybe because they have insulated themselves so well with layers of other people who are serving as their scapegoats. But God sees all of this, He knows everything, and He knows the hearts of men, and justice is coming. And so, in light of this, we're going to enter a time and a season where things are going to happen that don't seem fair or just. Many people have done a great job of putting up a front to make others believe that they are advocating for people, that their goal is for people to be free and to live well and to have good lives when secretly they're doing evil things against people. And these things are going to be brought to light. And these things are going to be dealt with, and justice will be served. The inevitable consequence of this, however, is that people are going to look at the repercussions of these actions and say, how could a God who says He loves people do these things? This is what I want to address in this mini-series over the next few episodes. So in this series, we're going to talk about why bad things happen in a world where we believe that God is almighty and all-powerful, and how the exposure of those who don't have good intentions and the justice for those that have been victimized may cause many people, both believers and unbelievers, to really question their concept of who they believe God is. They may ask themselves, if God is really good, how could he allow these things to happen? Or if God really loves us, then how could he allow us to suffer or endure this catastrophe? These are the questions that this series will be addressing, and we are going to address them from a biblical standpoint and see what the Bible tells us about the origin of bad things. So keep coming back as we walk through this series. It may get a little uncomfortable at times, but prayerfully we will get a deeper understanding of why these bad things happen. God bless and see you in the next episode.
